Emergent Tides
At Hadal Station, a deep-ocean research programme encounters Synthelix: an adaptive XNA lattice that appears to do more than survive pressure. It retains patterns, responds to disturbance and begins to unsettle the assumptions of the people studying it. DriftNet, built to observe and predict the trench, starts hesitating where certainty should be possible. Small anomalies accumulate until observation itself becomes part of the experiment.
Emergent Tides is as interested in human response as scientific discovery: who gets to define intelligence, who controls a finding that may alter biology, and what happens when the abyss ceases to be passive. The first Hadal novel establishes the cycle’s central tension between memory, adaptation and the systems built to contain both.
About this novel
This novel forms part of the continuous Hadal Cycle. Its events, systems and transformations carry forward into later volumes, so the sequence is designed to be read as an evolving arc rather than as disconnected installments.
